Five national ministries and three bureaus recently released the "2021-2035 Development Plan for Medical Isotopes" in Beijing. This guiding document sets out principles, objectives, tasks, and safeguards for the next fifteen years.

Utilizing radioactive isotopes to diagnose and treat major diseases like cardiovascular issues, malignant tumors, and neurodegenerative conditions offers irreplaceable advantages. In diagnostics, they provide molecular-level information on blood flow, function, and metabolism, enabling early detection of lesions before structural changes occur. For treatment, they use radioactivity to target and eliminate diseased tissue with precision, achieving effective outcomes. Hence, accelerating the high-quality development of medical isotopes is crucial for advancing the "Healthy China" initiative.

According to the "plan", accelerating the development of radioactive new drugs, increasing independent research and development of high-end diagnostic equipment, and strengthening the construction of nuclear medicine departments to achieve "One County, One Department" nationwide are key tasks for the next 15 years in nuclear medicine. This will create more opportunities for preclinical molecular imaging research instruments (small animal PET/SPECT/CT) and offer more development prospects for domestically-produced SPECT, SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and PET/MR systems.

In this historic opportunity, Novel Medical will continue to leverage Tsinghua University's strengths in nuclear technology and uphold the spirit of "self-improvement and social commitment." They will contribute to the "Healthy China" initiative with clinical SPECT, small animal PET/SPECT/CT, comprehensive nuclear medicine solutions, and other high-end nuclear medicine products.
