On November 19, 2019, the kick-off meeting for the "Winter Olympics Ports Intelligent Supervision and Rapid Clearance Technology and Equipment" project, part of the national key R&D program "Science and Technology Winter Olympics," was held in Beijing. Beijing Novel Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. attended as a project partner.
The project aims to solve challenges in ports such as accurate risk factor prediction, rapid confirmation, precise inspection, intelligent supervision, and comprehensive prevention and control. Given the high traffic and large, scattered volumes of goods before and after the Beijing Winter Olympics, and the increased risk of incoming infectious diseases and prohibited items, 15 sets of advanced intelligent equipment will be developed for use in customs systems. This will enhance non-intrusive inspection efficiency and precise on-site identification, significantly improving port clearance speed and supervision efficiency.
The project's proposed nuclear radiation holographic positioning system has been highly praised by customs leaders and experts for its technological innovation. To address the limitations of traditional monitoring equipment, such as narrow field of view, high false alarm rate, and low efficiency, the nuclear radiation holographic positioning system and equipment can achieve high-efficiency, precise positioning, real-time tracking, long-distance, all-around, and visual monitoring of radioactive materials. This effectively prevents the illegal entry of radioactive substances and enables comprehensive intelligent supervision of nuclear threat factors, thus improving inspection efficiency.
The equipment, co-developed by Novel Medical and Tsinghua University, signifies a breakthrough in Novel Medical's technological innovation in the field of nuclear radiation intelligent monitoring. It is also a major step for the company's product layout in the nuclear safety field, ensuring intelligent supervision and smooth operations for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
